Township Board

Conducts Township business; administers budget, finances and expenditures; adopts zoning ordinances; decides what services to offer. (elected every four years)

Planning Commission

Reviews property assessment values as determined by the assessor; hears taxpayer appeals; corrects errors in the tax roll. (appointed)

Construction Board of Appeals

The Construction Board of Appeals is tasked with hearing applications for a variance from or interpretation of any provision of the Township’s building, electrical, fire, mechanical or plumbing code, or any matter authorized by the Sparta Township Code. It is comprised of three members. (Appointed)
